I was really surprised by tonight's episode.

So I guess that means that Kate wasn't pregnant when she was on the island. Something must've happened to Claire. I mean why else would Kate be raising her son?

Also, didn't they kinda cheat? I mean, I guess Aaron is one of the Oceanic 6. He was kinda on the plane but he wasn't in the manifest. I was just really surprised because I wasn't expecting the baby to be one of them.

At first when Kate told Jack that she could understand why he didn't want to see the baby, I thought it was because the baby was Sawyer's. I wonder if Jack in the flashforward knows that Claire was his half sister. If so, then why wouldn't he care for Aaron? So many questions.

I just can't wrap my head around why Kate is the one raising Aaron. It just boggles my freakin' mind!!!

Also it irritates me because Desmond had a flash of Claire and Aaron getting off the island. If that's not what happened and Claire is still on the island, then what was the point in having Charlie die?

Another thing. I'm kinda upset that Claire isn't upset about Charlie anymore. I'm sorry but she just seems too happy where she is. Does this bother anyone else?

Not to spoil, but, the word with the O6 that was going around pre season was "Oceanic 6 + 1". So technically, Aaron isn't one of them, but I believe he is the plus one.

I'm not sure how much I liked this epi, it seemed to me that is what very slow paced, or I could have just been spoiled by last weeks fantastic epi.
I do want to throw something out to you guys to shoot down, so I can get it out of my head.
What if the Aaron the Kate says is her son is just that? points I saw to back this wayward theory up are:
- something happened to Claire and her Aaron getting off the
  the island, remember Kates lawyer said, when Jack was called
  to the stand, that Jack was one of 8 people found
- Kate was preggers, and just told Sawyer she wasn't to see
  his reaction, after all we really don't have a timeline with
  all this FF stuff
- in the parking garage when Kate and Jack were talking, I
  think that if the baby was Claire's Aaron, that Kate would
  have referred to it as so, especially since Jack knows Aaron,
  but she refers to it as "the baby"

so someone please shoot this theory down for me or I will have to engage an extended happy hour to seek this clarity of this matter.

I agree about it being slow-paced.

I have no problems with the aaron theory, just one offhand comment that I'd find it a tad odd that Kate would name her kid Aaron too.

Regardless, would Jack really let a baby get between them like that? That would seem shallow to me. Gotta be more to it.

The more I see Kate's off island activities, the more I don't like her. I could go the rest of the series w/o seeing anymore of her flashbacks/forwards.

hell, I don't why Kate would name her kid Aaron, maybe out of respect or something like that, I told you it was a screwed up theory, but it's bugging the hell out of me.

as for Daniel / Charlotte card thing, my take is that it is a memory test, that Daniel suffers from some sort of memory loss and knowing the healing properties of the island they are testing him to see if it will heal him.
Or maybe she was fleecing his ass at 3 Card Monte

ETA - I agree with you about Kate, Borky, and Juliets hair down wild look was simply the HAWTEST EVER

Although I believe that Aaron is Claire's Aaron, I thought of a third alternative that is even more off the wall than GB's.  Kate, feeling spurned by Sawyer, goes back to the beach and bumps uglies with Jack out of spite.  The kid is Jack's but he's so damaged by his relationship with his own father (sitting in the rocking chair in his ridiculous sneakers) that he can't own up to being the baby's father for fear that he will "damage" him (and maybe even suspects that Sawyer is actually the father).

Obviously, the blonde hair works against this theory, LOL

I agree (as I IM'd with ILE earlier) that the epi was something of a let-down.  And I could very easily do without any more Kate as well.  What happened to the Kate we all loved Season 1???

You see that would piss me off. Desmond claimed he saw Claire and Aaron get into the helicopter that leaves the island. That's the whole reason why Charlie died.

Now I can't help but wonder if maybe, just maybe Desmond lied about that part. I seem to remeber in season 3 when Locke had that vision with Boone, Boone told him that Des was helping himself. For some reason that just won't leave me.

I'm not saying that Desmond didn't see Charlie drown in the Looking Glass. But I think he may have saw something else and made up that part about Claire and Aaron just to get Charlie to what he needed to get that blinking light turned off.

That would be the biggest surprise learning that Desmond is actually going over to the dark side. I think when your so desperate to see the woman you love, you'd do anything.

These are just thoughts. Shoot them all to hell if ya want.
