Find815.com is the site that hosts Find 815, the newest online adventure from ABC studios and the creative LOST team. The site was revealed on December 31, 2007 via another website, Flyoceanicair.com. It is scheduled to produce content for players until the premiere of season four of LOST at the end of January.

Plot

The storyline revolves around an Oceanic IT technician Sam Thomas who is intent on finding his love, Sonya, who was on board Oceanic Flight 815. The player learns of FIND 815 through a hacked video placed on the flyoceanicair.com website.

The "Find 815" arc is released chapter by chapter every week. There are five chapters in all (five weeks leading up to the Season 4 Premier) and every 2 days or so a hypothetical "page" is released for the chapter. There are six tasks needed to be fulfilled every chapter in order to get a further understanding of the continious story line. The six tasks are as follows: Emails, Web Sites, Videos, Messages, Activity and Clue Hunt. A few of each tasks are released per page every 2 days. The game will provide "vital backstory to Lost".

Within the website, there are 3 areas with different purposes: "My Progress" (shows the player how much they have completed i.e. how many tasks they've fulfilled every chapter), "Sam's Desk" (The picture shown on the screen is that of Sam's desk/office where he has been researching the events of Oceanic 815. There are three accessable points: his Computer which contains the tasks "Emails" and "Web Sites", his Phone which contains the task "Messages" and a Manifest which contains information of nine Oceanic 815 passengers. The Manfist may expand in the future but for the time being, it only contains info on Kate, Sawyer, Jack, Sayid, Jin, Sun, Hurley, Claire and Locke). The final Area is "Story so Far" which gives the player the option to play/further explore the tasks they have already completed or to get a quick lowdown on what is to come/get up to date.

At the bottom right hand corner of the website is a counter which counts down to the next page/chapter release.

Chapter 1


Intro: The narrative begins with a video of Sam watching a news report on television about how the search for Flight 815 is over and the people on the flight are presumed dead. Sam sees himself giving an interview on that news report where he says that his soon-to-be wife was a stewardess on the flight, and he will do everything he can to try and find her. He opens a box with an engagement ring in it, then goes over to study his wall of maps. Obviously he's been obsessed with the missing plane - the wall is covered. His computer chimes when an email comes in. The email is from someone who says that she used to know his soon-to-be wife and has a picture of Sonya attached. The man looks at a photo of Sonya on his desk, and notices some differences. He compares the two images.

Sam's notebook after Game 1 consists of analyzing the two photos and seeing the differences between them. By zooming into the picture from the email (both eyes, forehead and birthmark), different clues can be found and clicked upon:

After finding these clues, Sam replies to the mail by writing "Who are you?". However, Sam gets a delivery report mail saying there is no such recipient. It mostly consists of letters that don't make sense.

Sam's notebook after Game 2 consists of finding a clue about the recipient. After detailed searching an address written in the lowermost part of the mail can be seen: www.the-maxwell-group.com

After finding this clue, Sam stands in front of his map trying to remember where he has seen one of these hints before. He uncovers one part of the map and circles the "SUNDA" part on it.
The page the-maxwell-group.com features username and password login boxes placed over a picture of a compass. Upon login, the following text is displayed:

The server is currently being serviced. It is expected to be back in service by
02/01/2008 00:08:15 UTC
”  

This site also has hints in the source code - "pageok" , "0*"(it can change to 01,02,03,04,05,06,07) and "7.0"

The Sunda Trench, also called Java Trench, is located near Indonesia in the northeastern Indian Ocean. With a length of 2,600 km and a maximum depth of 7,725 meters it is one of the deepest trenches of the Indian Ocean.

The Sunda Trench is likely the location of the presumed Flight 815-wreck as mentioned by both Naomi Dorrit and Anthony Cooper. They claimed that the wreckage was found off the coast of Bali, and that all the passengers' bodies were there. Bali is the westernmost of the Lesser Sunda Islands.

Pack Sam's Bag

An extra game called "Pack Sam's Bag" appeared on January 1st on the ABC site ( http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/find815/index?pn=chapter1 ) . According to the text Sam Thomas is heading for the Sunda Trench to look for the mysterious Black Rock. But squeezing all the items from his desk into his backpack proves difficult. This activity tests spatial logic, and is accomplished by "dragging and dropping" the items into a "bag". One who achieves this is rewarded with the exclusive Lost Season 4 clue word "Matthew", to be taken to find815.com for a bonus clue.  

The mini-game showed up slightly before the emails indicating Sam intended to go to Indonesia appeared on find815.com.

Also, this mini-game was subsequently removed from abc.com at some point on January 1.

Four new emails show up in Sam Thomas's mail box. There are 2 emails he sent and the responses. It is learnt in the emails that the Christiane I previously mentioned is a salvage ship docked in Jakarta that is about to leave on a confidential mission. It also appears Sam is going to try and get their before the ship leaves as he aquired tickets to Jakarta through a friend who apparently works at an airline.

A new website is available to be read on Sam's laptop. The site focuses on the Sunda Trench mentioned earlier.
http://www.findinfoout.com/sundatrench is the site on Sams computer, but it is not a real world web address.
When this site was first available there was a part concerning the 2004 tsunami in the Sunda Trench, this part has since been revised and omitted. But still the marker on the map marking the location of the tsunami remains, and in the legend 2 dates appear for the stars. Dec 26 2004 is marked beside the red star, March 28 2005 for the yellow stars marking. March 28 2005 was the date of the Indonesia earthquake and tsunami.

It is discovered that after e-mailing the address zkillen_t99@hotmail.com which was found on Sam Thomas' laptop an automated message is received back. In addition, the recorded message on Georgia Cavanagh's voice mail reached using the contact information from the Oceanic press release has changed. Also, it is found that Sam Thomas has a profile on the networking sites Facebook and a MySpace account.

When emailing zkillen_t99@hotmail.com, one of the email addresses on Sam's computer, an automated reply is sent to your inbox that reads:

Freundlich was also the last name of Erwin Freundlich, a man that worked with Albert Einstein, on the properties of Gravitational Reshift.

New telephone message
Calling the number at the bottom of the Oceanic Press Release found on December 28th gives an addition message:

“  To log into your mailbox, press 81. To call an attendant, press 0. ”  

If you don’t do any of these things and just start pressing buttons, this is what you should get:

When you try to use one of the commands listed above, you should get “The (insert command name here) cannot be used at this time.

If you choose to try to log into a mailbox, you can pretty much enter any number you want for a mailbox. When you try to enter a password for that mailbox, you should be told that the password is incorrect. Input too many incorrect passwords and it tells you to “Please contact your system administrator for assistance” and hangs up on you.


Sam Thomas can be found when searching his name in Facebook in the Australia network, leaving a list of roughly 20 people. Scrolling down one finds Sam Thomas. It appears he is adding people to his network as can be found by viewing his friends.

The the logo from www.the-maxwell-group.com site appears to have a hidden snake in it after playing with the image in photo shop.  Here is the original and altered images.

Sam then receives a voice mail message from his Mum who enquires about his recent behaviour and requests for him to call her.

"Sam, it's mum. I just saw you on the telly. What's going on? You're going to loose your job if you keep carrying on like that. I know you probably wouldn't care at the moment, but you look like you hadn't slept in days. I'm worried about your health Sam, physical and... well, otherwise. Can you call me?"


After awaking from an open window continually banging from the wind. When Sam shuts the window he sees a reflection of either one of the women from the Oceanic Airlines advertisement or his girlfriend, Sonya. He turns around to see his old Oceanic Airlines uniform hanging on his wardrobe door.

The player then sees Sam's room in the dark and, using the cursor as a flashlight, is prompted to find several items in order to see special clues for each season of Lost. By clicking a Driveshaft CD entitled "Driveshaft - Live In Jakarta," several frames are shown of a Driveshaft concert, showing Charlie in each frame; this is labled, "Driveshaft - your Season 1 clue." By clicking the jewelery box with a pearl necklace found on his side table, several frames of the Pearl Orientation video are shown, titled "Pearl - your Season 2 clue." By moving the cursor rapidly over the rocking chair (bottom-right corner) and then clicking, several frames of when Ben took Locke to see Jacob are shown, each depicting the rocking chair Jacob was supposedly sitting on; this is titled "Rocking Chair - your Season 3 clue." By moving the cursor rapidly and clicking on an item on the opposite side table you are prompted to visit a "network partner" (either Yahoo Australia or ABC.com, presumably depending on player's region) on which the player is prompted to rearrange Sam's items to fit into his suitcase, in order to obtain an "exclusive Clue relating to Season 4." By entering this "clue word" into the space provided under the "network partner" link, either Matthew or Abaddon, a piece of paper with "Oceanic Hotline - 888 548-0034" is shown. This is a different number than the original Georgia Cavanagh (818) 460-5520 found on the press release but it still goes to her voice mail, "Hi, you've reached Georgia Cavanagh and Oceanic Airlines. We've had an unprecedended response to our return to service and we'll try to get back to you shortly. Please leave your name, number, and the time that you called. In addition, please check out our new website at http://flyoceanicair.com beginning December 31st. Thank you. "

Some received this message: "calling this number, a female voice says, "The number you have called is not connected, please check the number before calling again" twice before a deeper static voice says the letters "QCG" then either the number 4 or 5, or "QWG" then the number 3."  

Yet another message has been heard, saying, “ Thank you for calling the Oceanic Airlines flight 815 hotline. Information is updated as the investigation proceeds. Investigations are thorough and as such may take a period of time to complete. At this time we do not have any additional information regarding crash flight 815. If you are a family member or relative of a passenger on Oceanic flight 815 we are sorry for your loss. Detailed information is given during the daily family briefings. This briefing updates families on the progress of the investigation and allows for questions to be asked of the medical examiner or coroner and other parties connected to this investigation. Please contact your accident coordinator or call back later for more information. ”

In Hebrew abaddon means "destruction". In Job 26:6; Proverbs 15:11 it means "place of destruction", or "realm of the dead".

Billboards advertising Oceanic Airlines have been found in three of the nine cities featured in the Oceanic Airlines press release. Speaker at EvilPuppetMasters.com[1] posted links to the two Billboards found in Portland, OR and Tustin, CA. The billboard found in Portland says "A new life awaits you in Seoul" and the one in Tustin reads "Discover the mysteries of Berlin". Also, in Ames, IA, a billboard was found reading "Lose yourself in London".

Sam Thomas posted a video on Facebook, which linked me to a video hosted by User "Traceyr1975." So far there are two videos, one of Oceanic's original commercial and another of the commercial hacked by Sam. Here's the link:

Sam then receives a new email from Oceanic letting him know he has been terminated due to his repeated bashing of them in public. He then sends an email to Austral Air looking for a job.

The player then views a video diary on Sam's video recorder, where he discusses his plans to propose to Sonya and how he is flying to Jakarta to depart on the Christiane I to search for a shipwreck

Each billboard found so far has displayed a different destination, with the exception of Berlin, among the nine cities listed in Oceanic Airlines' press release. So far, the list goes as follows:
