So do you think Locke will really die?

I could see Locke dying, but I don't think he will. I don't think they'd make a cliffhanger ending if he's just going to die at the beginning of the enxt episode. He will play at least a little more significance in life I think. Although I believe the wound was a little more central in his midsection.

I can't see them letting him die. He seems to be too tied up in the mythology of the island to let him go. They have already paved the way for the island healing pucture wounds (Naomi) and for someone near death reviving (Mikhail) so it wouldn't be a stretch for Locke to be healed. Locke would also be the best vehicle for them to use to give Ben his comeuppance. Though Alex and Danielle might already be in line for that. Alex giving Locke the gun probably wasn't for protection against Jacob, she probably knew that the danger was from Ben.

I don't think he's dead. The shooting was a huge shock to me, but the island has healed Locke before, and a gut shot is not necessarily fatal. I'm expecting the Island will save him, and that Ben's in for a huge shock when he sees Locke walking toward him, alive and well.

I was so shocked too, when Ben shot him.

And I believe if anyone can be healed from a gun shot, it has to be Locke with all his "special" communication with the island. And like Jeannie said, he has already been healed from a serious injury once before.
Maybe someone will find him in the grave as well - Danielle, Alex, Richard?

I agree Rain, I think he will be found by someone, at least I hope he is. Although his FB's seem done, I don't his whole story is finished yet

I agree - even if his backstory seems wrapped up, his island story can still develope.
I`m always confused about island geography, and I`m not sure how far from where the Others are now the grave site is, but I could see Alex going to look for him since she seemed to anticipate something like this.

one thing to consider, Locke has had a kidney removed, does anyone remember which side they took?  If it was his left, then no kidney = bullet passing through=pain, but not fatal=the island has time to heal him.

Yup. Aren't they brilliant where he got shot? I almost wonder if Ben did it on purpose....knowing he'd survive if shot in that location.

I think Alex just knows Ben better than anyone else. Look at when she told Locke about Ben manipulating people into thinking things are their ideas when he's really getting exactly what he wants.

This may be another example of it. If only Locke would have listened to Alex.

I think she's going to be an important character. She knows so much, and is genuine and not swayed by what the Others do and who they are.

if they are gonna kill him off this season, i don't think they would just shoot him and leave him in a pit. I hope if they do kill him (and i hope they don't) that he is there for the finale and dies a hero

I thought so too Rara, for Locke that would be a very anti-climatic death - even if I was all shocked when Ben shot him.
Also I think it would mean the story would take a step back, right now Locke is one of the few who knows some of the secret of the island. And the only one who seems likely to maybe share this info, or use it for something other than Ben`s agenda. So if they kill him off now, it just seems like they will have to start that story line all over again.
