I remember reading over at the lage, how Gregg Nations said he wasn`t too happy when he saw the promo for the jack-flashback episode where they promised answers to 3 questions. Seems like that was entirely the work of the promo department and TPTB didn`t have anything to do with it. From his post it didn`t seem like even he was sure which 3 questions they had meant.

It's too bad the writers can't handle the promos too. Things like the "answers to 3 big questions" end up hurting the show, not helping.

It's one thing to spend the summer promoting "Who shot JR?" when you know that the answer to who shot JR will be shown. But to blatently say 3 questions will be answered, when even the writers don't know what they are talking about is stupid. Crap like that frustrates viewers, that's for sure.

Like some others, I've taken to watching the promos, but ignoring the voice-overs. But your average viewer doesn't do that.

Can the show be saved - after last episode, the answer to me is a resounding YES.

I was just archiving our mysteries and answers from the show and I realized that while we have been grumbling that there are too many unsolved mysteries, so much HAS been recently answered that I believe the show is right on track again.

As viewers it is important to remember that a good story cannot answer every question at once. We learned a lot in the last episode, but if we had viewed that episode last season, before we learned about the Others/hostiles, it would not have had the impact and understanding it has now.

So - patience IS a virtue with this show, and IMHO, we have been rewarded.

According to Dark Ufo the ratings have been going up as well. In the ratings between September and March it had higher ranking than both Heroes and 24.

If they keep up the way the last couple of episodes have been, especially Enter 77, I think they'll be just fine.

My husband had been getting a bit tired of the show. After Enter 77 he is back on board.

I know whatcha mean Jeannie, my wife was a Lost fanatic until recently, she gave up on it because it was getting so convoluted, but she sat and watched with me last week, and is now fully back on board!

same here. altho, maybe not *fully*. If we get another mind-tease episode, she'll be wavering again I'm sure.

I wonder if this small sample reflects the fanbase as a whole? wouldn't surprise me... I'm thinking TPTB are walking on thinner ice than they might be realizing.

Like Raider and Jeannie's significant others, hubby declared after the horrid Jack/tattoo episode he was done with the show. But after that great Hurley episode, then last's week's excitement, he is back into it again.

As a reminder, I did read (and posted about it before) that TPTB said the show will "jump the shark" once before the finale and I am concerned that jump will lose some of our significant others viewers.

I just wonder if TPTB KNOW something will be a shark jumping moment, why do they go through with it?

Lemme guess, we will see some catastrophic event, then the camera pans in tight to Hurleys face, eyes closed.  He opens his eyes, looks around, and sees he is in his bedroom at home.  Then Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy) gets out of the shower and says "Are you okay hon?"  at which point Hurley says "Whoa dude, gotta stop doing coke and buffalo wings together"  Losts 'jump the shark' moment!
