Miss Klugh appears to be a leader of the Others that ranks higher than Tom.

Miss Klugh questions Michael about Walt's abilities and childhood, but soon discovers that Michael doesn't know much about him. Miss Klugh later allows Michael to spend 3 minutes with Walt, and tells him that if he ever wants to see him again, he needs to return and bring ONLY Jack, Sawyer, Kate and Hurley back to the Others. Michael asks for the boat, and is told if he accomplishes his mission, he and his son will be allowed to go free.

After Michael betrays his friends and does as he is told, Miss Klugh meets them on the dock by the ocean.  She calls Tom by his real name, and he in turn calls Miss Klugh "Bea".

I know it has been established by looking at the casting list that the actress who played Ms. Klugh is NOT the same woman we saw in the Eko smoke or on Isaac's healing wall. But I present these images for you to ponder - I still think that TPTB may have done another casting change (like they did with Penelope from the old Des photo) when they finally decided to introduce us to Ms. Klugh on the island. The other actresses look hauntingly similiar to Ms. Klugh:

I wonder what`s been keeping Ms. Klugh busy in S3? In the scenes with Walt and Michael she seemed to be one of the people in charge, yet now she doesn`t seem to be part of the decision making...

Poor ms.klugh... she comes back, get knocked around by kate and sayid, speaks a little Russian and then she`s shot...

Any thoughts on why this character was in the Flame Hatch? What her role may have been with Walt?

We saw Mikhail didn`t really die - any chance they only faked Mrs.Klugh`s death as well?
Her death doesn`t really make sense (except if TPTB only brought her back because fans kept asking for her, while they had no intensions of using her anymore LOL). Why did she need Mikhail to kill her - the Others have interacted with the Losties several times now, yet none of them has felt the need to kill themselves yet.

I would really like to know what she was doing with Walt too, Pen.

You know if he deliberately faked the blood and such with pills as some have speculated, she could have faked her death too. She spoke to him in another language - was that ever translated????

Here's the translation:

Klugh: Mikhail! You know what to do.
Mikhail: We still have another way.
Klugh: We cannot risk. You know what to do.
Mikhail: We still have another way.
Klugh: We cannot risk. You know the conditions.
Mikhail: We have another way.
Klugh: They know us. We will not let them [unintelligible]. You know what to do. It is an order.
Mikhail: But we still have another way! (pause) I'm sorry! (shoots)

Did he mean the sonic fence when he said "another way"? And why so determined to stop them - what were they worried about?
