Alex Rousseau is Danielle's daughter. Danielle gave birth to Alex approximately two months after wrecking on the island along with her research team.  A couple of weeks after the birth, Danielle saw a column of smoke in the air. Soon afterwards, the Others came and took Alex from her. Danielle has been on the island for sixteen years now, looking for her daughter.

When pregnant Claire is kidnapped and taken to the Staff Station, she and Ethan "become friends" (though she was drugged at the time).  She meets Alex there, who comes to her one day warning her that Ethan and the Others are going to kill her and take her baby. Alex helps Claire escape from the medical facility, though this is against Claire's will in her confused state, and she later can't remember anything.

When Claire gives birth to Aaron, Danielle kidnaps and tries to exchange him with the Others for Alex, but is unsuccessful and has to return him.

When Jack, Locke and Sawyer have an encounter with Tom, the bearded leader of the Others, he tells Jack and company to hand over their guns and leave. When Jack is unwilling to do so, Tom calls for Alex, asking her to "bring her out" (meaning Kate). Unseen, Alex asks Pickett to do it instead, so she can talk to Michael behind the scenes, and ask him if Claire is alright.

Do you think she has any awareness that her mother was on the island?

What motivates Alex to help the Losties? Could it be that she senses these Hostiles are not her real family?

Maybe it has something to do with the way they`ve been treating Karl. Or she just doesn`t agree with they way they do things, like what they were about to do to Claire.
She and Ben seems to be having some issues to work through as well.

Well its out there. She knows there is a potential "live" mother out there.

Do you think Alex, as we have seen her, will go looking for her, or confront Ben?

I think next time we are with the others taht rosseau will confront her when she is alone

I hope Alex confronts Ben. I would like to hear what he has to say on the whole thing. Everything out of his mouth could be a lie, but it will be interesting to see.

So where is Alex? I can`t remember seeing her in their little camp?
