Sami is the husband of Amira, and was living in Paris, France where he claimed to be a restaurant owner.

Amira accused Sayid of torturing her while he was working for the Republican Guard in Iraq. Sami lured Sayid into a trap by offering him a job as a chef in his restarauntm where Sayid was subdued and beaten. Sami threatened to kill him if he didn`t confess to torturing his wife.
When Sayid later confessed to his wife, she told her husband she had made a mistake and should let Sayid go.
