I can just tell I will despise him. |

Yeah so far I don`t like him either. And the two scenes he has been in so far, have just been lame I think. |

After listening to Vincent's podcast discussion of this twit, I really do not see the writer's point to bring this character out. Gah!!! |

Oh I hate this man. He was RUDE to Desmond last week too. I suspect we will be force-fed more of him this season and get even further irritated. Maybe if the writers would quit killing off the main cast, they wouldn't feel compelled to replace them with schmucks like this. |

I wish Desmond would have taken one of the golf clubs and smashed it in Paulo`s head... |

This question about Paulo was posed at Lostpedia and I'm wondering if it may be of relevance, as a way to better "link" him with the show mythology: Is there a connection between Paulo (portuguese name) and the Portuguese men in the Listening Station? |
| rottenralf Posts : 1535 Tracing My Family Tree ![]() |
I think it was mentioned somewhere perhaps a podcast that is wasn't a coincidence that they are all portuguese. --Last edited by rottenralf on 2007-03-14 18:43:06 --

So, what WAS his job in the real world? I find it interesting he could cook - - never saw him assisting Sun now did we? |
| Rainflower Posts : 7296 |
That`s true Pen. It seems Paolo and Nikki has been keeping mainly to themselves, and been to busy looking for their precious diamonds to help with cooking or anything else. In fact they seemed too busy to mention small things such as "oh hey I found a mysterious hatch in the middle of the jungle" etc. |

or the walkie talkie. i wonder if he ever used it? |
| rottenralf Posts : 1535 Tracing My Family Tree ![]() |
Whether Paolo ever used the walkie-talkie is probably irrelavant. It was put there as a future plot point. I think a lot of this episode was there either to provide info for future episodes or to validate assumptions of past events. The scene with B&J told us that the Hostiles were the barefoot ones and also Tom was spying on the Losties so he knew what was going on when he chastized Locke in Hunting Party.

I'm not sure its irrelevant but maybe its irrelevant to Paulo, being he is dead. It was shown multiple times and very obviously I might add. Paulo also was heard mentioning that they were running out of food a few week's ago remember? I wonder if he heard something on that walkie talkie? |
| rottenralf Posts : 1535 Tracing My Family Tree ![]() |
I think it was shown multiple times because it will be important in the future. That is why I'm calling it a future plot point, TPTB are introducing it now so they don't have to backtrack and explain it away later. If Paolo was communicating with the Hostiles, it should of been shown in this past episode which was suppose to be their timeline from the crash to present. For them to interject later on "Oh yeah, Paolo and Nikki were also moles" would be beyond shark jumping. Paolo was mentioning they were running out of prune filled granola bars, not because of something he heard, but because they couldn't find any in the food pantry.
