Resided in: Sydney
Occupation: None
Reason for Travel: Traveling to NY with father after mom died
Flight Seat #: Unknown

Walt was born on August 24, 1994. When he was very young, his mother (Susan) left his father (Michael) and took Walt with her. They spent time in Amsterdam and Italy before moving to Australia. Along the way, she married a coworker at the law firm, Brian Porter.  Walt grew up not knowing Michael, though unbeknownst to him, Michael was fighting to be in his life, and sent him letters he never received.

When Walt's mother died in 2004, Brian decided he couldn't be Walt's father, and asked Michael to take Walt. According to Brian, strange things happen around Walt. Brian gave Walt his dog Vincent to take with him, since they seemed to share a bond.

On the island, Walt and Michael have at first a tennuous and strained relationship, mostly because of Michael's controlling ways, and Walt's rebelliousness around this near-stranger who now wants to parent him.  They argue over a comic book Walt enjoys reading, and later over more serious matters, like Walt's admiration for Locke, someone who he is forming a bond with against his father's wishes.  Locke believes there is something "special" about Walt, also.

After a violent and strange encounter with a polar bear, Walt begins to understand that Michael does mean him well.  Still, he likes being on the island, and secretly burns the first raft Michael is constructing (a fact only known to Locke), but helps him to rebuild a second one.

Walt gives Vincent to Shannon when he leaves on the raft with his father, Sawyer and Jin. When the rafters set sail, they soon run into the Others, fifteen miles offshore. The Others take Walt, and leave the other rafters stranded in the ocean after setting their raft ablaze.

While he was supposed to be captive on the other side of the island, a strange image of Walt is briefly seen by both Shannon (at least twice) and later, also Sayid, shortly before Shannon is accidentally shot.  Walt talks backwards and says something about the button being bad.

Walt is held at the Others' camp, and Miss Klugh allows Michael 3 minutes to see him when Michael is also captured.  He tells him that the Others are not what they seem, and that they are running tests on him.

Walt is later reunited with Michael, as a reward for Michael's betrayel of his friends. The Prisoner ("Henry") says that Walt was "more than they bargained for."  Michael and Walt are placed in a boat and told to head towards bearing 325.

There had been some discussion up in GD about Walt acting strange. There was also discussion over at the OWA forum by some of the new members that they heard Walt say in the finale "They're Aliens" to his dad when his dad hugs him.

I too think Walt acted strange - the Walt we knew from S1 would have immediately asked his Dad why he wasn't helping Jack, Kate & Sawyer. He would have asked about getting Vincent. He was uncharacteristically silent.

And let's not forget the 'Walt' conversation on the Hatch computer.

I too found it strange that Walt didn`t ask about Sawyer, Jack & Kate. On the raft, he was very much concerned about coming back from the others. Now he sees 3 of their friends, tied-up and gagged on the dock while he and his dad are sailing away, and yet says nothing....

And oh god, I hope he didn`t say "they`re aliens" ...

I also didn't like the look on Walt's face either. Something was definitely off with him when he was reunited with his father, and I don't think its just because he had been kidnapped by the others either.

And "they're aliens" sort of sounds like "they're evil" so let's hope for that.

I also thought he had a different expression in the boat than when he and Michael met with Ms.Klugh.

I`m good with "they`re evil" - if they include aliens on the show I think I`ll have to stop watching
