Big props on Josh Holloway's acting in this epi. And T O'Q rawks as usual. I second the motion that Jack needs a machete to the head, but it needs to do some damage to Kate as well. Why, oh why can she not keep her mouth shut??? |

Yeah, I was frustrated with Kate for telling him, especially in front of Jules. Btw, Bali as the crash site makes NO sense - created a thread in GD.

BTW when Locke hoisted Cooper's body, did anybody else hear a voice say something, or is it some sort of ABC sound artifact in this market again? |
| ILovedEko admin Posts : 16833 |
People have mentioned it at LTV, WOC. But I don't remember hearing anything. But chaz and others have said they heard something. Some say they heard "okay", others say they heard "James".

Great episode! I was surprised when Sawyer killed Cooper because I didn't think he'd kill again... until I saw Cooper tear up the letter. Then I knew what was coming. What a gruesome death - my son even commented that he was surprised by what they showed. I'm betting it would have been less graphic if they were still in an earlier timeslot. But damn, I was rooting for Sawyer to just kill him at that point! Great acting by both Josh and Terry. I so wanted to smack Kate when she ran to Jack. How can she possibly still trust him? And just what did Juliet want to tell Kate, and why did Jack say "not yet"? I loved Sayid's line "Did you tell Jack yet?" "Good." As usual, Sayid is thinking. As to the plane being found with all the passengers dead, how convenient that it's four (lol @ one of the numbers) miles down. Makes it easier to fake the find that way. |

Probably the best episode of the season!!! I was so happy to see Sawyer face Sawyer, and when he gave him the letter – OMG I started to cry! And then when he killed Cooper – I applauded. If ever there was a justification to kill someone, there it was. Poor Sawyer. Here are my episode comments before I go to work. I’m sure these are mentioned but I’m mainly posting them here so I remember what I was thinking for further discussion later!! 1. What did Locke burn – Sawyer’s file? His file? Cooper’s file? 2. Plane crashed in Bali with bodies --- wow that would take a ton of money to have every body there – I wonder if they faked DNA samples so the proper bodies would be verified? 3. No one trusts Jack. I’m starting to wonder if this is a bad thing, and not a good thing. 4. Yay for confirmation on box being a metaphor. 5. Yay for confirmation there is not an alternate reality, nor is this purgatory (based on Naomi’s comments) 6. Yay for Penelope looking for her love!!! I knew she was near the island—I guess just 18 miles away. 7. Cooper’s comment about the island – nice purgatory nod LOL. 8. Did they all have to provide a sacrifice to the island to join Ben? Like Cindy – maybe she had to kill her lover – Gary Troup – to join? 9. And I pose the same question then about Jack….. 10. OMG – totally not expecting to see Danielle at the ship!!!! 11. “that could only happen to someone that is extremely special” --- so one’s degree of healing is determined by the human the island heals?? That makes sense. Maybe purity is a factor or innocence – animals are certainly innocent. 12. WTF about Jack and Juliet’s secret at the end? “not yet” what???? Is he bad? Is he good? I am so confused but I am sure one of you has figured this one out (thank goodness!) 13. And I have a spoiler theory I am going to post in spoilers….LOL |

Pen, I need to rewatch, but 4 miles down is (I'm pretty sure) too deep for recovery. They did mention it was verified by robot divers. That actually makes it easier to fake the crash. They come up with fake video from the robots, they don't have to provide evidence that the bodies are who they say they are, and who is going to prove them wrong? I just googled to make sure I was right about the depth/recovery thing, and the Titanic is only 2 and a half miles down, and impossible to visit except in the special subs. |

As soon as I read your post above me (which i did not when i posted my list LOL) I realized how they avoided that tricky little plot device Jeannie. Makes sense. OMG Josh's acting was SUPERB! He should get an emmy for this episode! I can't wait to watch it again tonight. ILE -- the whole Jack / Jules thing -- that's a good point. I of course was thinking OMG Jack is evil and he was going to confess LOL. Desmond looked so pleased that no one trusted Jack - it was cute that then how he gave an approving nod when it was Sayid who returned to talk with Naomi. And as usual, Sayid asking all the right questions. that is why i love him! The purgatory stuff should end IMO with this episode. Naomi's statements contradict Cooper's belief that it is hell. But I'm sure someone will twist it back. I saw a lot of nods to our theories with this episode -- for example, more info about the Black Rock being used for mining of the island. Also we got verification that Cindy is not being held captive but happily there.... |

Great episode, one of the best and we got some answers fairly quick, I was afraid the were going to let who Naomi worked for and why she was there drag out, but it got summed up pretty quicky. No need to post what already has been posted, but one thing that bothered me, if I heard it correctly that is. Des and camping party heard the helicopter and saw the flashing light at night, right? But Naomi told them "one day the clouds parted and there was land, my instruments went crazy so I bailed out" Maybe this was a slip of the writing, or maybe I've gotten to the point that I hang on to every word looking for clues and answers. btw - ILE, the pillar that Cooper tied to looked like some sort of ruins, ruins that perhaps tie in with the 4-toed statue

I'm still a little freaked about how all the Others surrounded the column when Ben told Locke to kill Cooper. Are they always "just there to watch"? WTF? I suspect Ben is up to no good as usual. If Locke is healed because he is "special" or "good", wouldn't he lose that distinction by killing someone? Or maybe the rules are different on the island in other ways as well. And what exactly did Ben mean by "you're not who we thought you are"? Who did they think he was? It seemed there was more to that statement than simply "you're not man enough to kill your evil dad" |

I think it was 80 miles away.
I thought it looked like that too, but I was worried I may have been influenced by a rumor going around that we saw yesterday that next seasons big 'set' (S1 was the caves, S2 was the hatch, S3 was the Hydra) may be centered around ruins. (I don't count that as a big spoiler, since it's not confirmed and just a set thing.)

80 oh she is further than I thought LOL. I also thought the pillar was a "ruins" type of set....near that statue or that fake camp where Walt was held?? |

Nice catch GB! During this scene, I was talking [well yelling ] at the TV, when Sayid asked if they had seen the helicopter. I'm thinking, someone speak up--"ah, no, but we heard one, and saw red lights".What do you all think was the purpose of Danielle in this epi? To show she minds her own business? We know that. To wonder what she is doing with the dynamite? Maybe a plan to get Alex? On a side note, every time I see Juliet with her snide "You people are so clueless" smile, I just want to slap her, LOL! One of the best episodes this season, IMHO. |

Kate is starting to grind on my nerves, spilling the beans to J & J about Naomi, the ship, and sat phone. I wanted to reach thru the TV and strangle her little jealous neck. The greastest scene to date was Danielle coming into the Black Rock and finding Locke there, it was all casual like: Danielle - hey John, how ya doin'? What cha doin'? Locke - oh hi Danielle, I'm fine, got my dad tied up in there and Sawyers in there to kill him. What are you up to? Danielle - oh cool, I'm just here for some dynamite Locke - sure, it's over there, help yourself, see ya Danielle - thanks, catch ya later, have a nice day
