Both good questions gentlemen.  Does this mean that they were trying to intentionally breed Skate?  And this is casting Juliet's loyalties back again in a sympathetic direction although my hubby says he still doesn't trust her.  I think TPTB are making her look intentionally vague that way.

How about that Mikhail being alive!! Won't Locke love it if/when he finds that out.

That island has got some healing powers, I'm thinking 5 star hotel/health spa would be great there.

That ending was the best! That alone made it the best LOST episode since the Pilot!

Well, that was interesting.  Cannot be true that there were no survivors because TPTB promised that the island was not purgatory.  So it is a falsehood.  Why? a) Parachute lady is a plant and her mission is to tell our losties that tale; 2)parachute lady was dispatched by Penny and believes that there were no survivors of 815; or 3) See, parallel universe theory.

Also, hello??-- why was there no discussion of pregnancy termination???  I mean what is the point of not discussing it -- both Sun and the fetus die anyway, it is not like there is a choice in this matter... it is either life for Sun or death for Sun and fetus.
Sun was tough tonight, I loved that -- but her acceptance of this fate is strange.  There is no heroism in the decision....

I need to mull this one over some more... good show.

They could also have found some wreckage and bodies, if someone moved it closer to where 815 was supposed to be, and assumed that everyone was dead.

I wondered about why no discussion of terminating Sun's pregnancy too, LS. It would seem like the logical thing to do.

I wondered about Kate also, Lisa. If sperm count goes up so high on the island, she's likely to get pregnant if she isn't careful.

Oh and exactly what "sample" did she get from Sun? A sonogram isn't an invasive procedure.

and with regards to the last point, I know that revelation is going to fuel the alternate reality flames to a roaring bonfire. Let me throw something out for y'all to throw tomatoes at. Throughout this series we have been exposed to several wealthy and powerful men, Sun's father, Alvar Hanso, and Penny's father. These are men with resources to back whatever is going on at the island and the power to protect their investment and involvment. With those resources it is possible to, once learning 815 had crashed on the island, to "stage" a discovery of 815 and report no survivors. The result being the island and it's mysteries are still cloaked in the secrecy it has had for so long. In short, I do not think "alternate realities" or "time warp/travel/manipulation" is involved here.

gb, that's pretty much my line of thinking, as well. Someone doesn't want them to be found, and therefore set up a fake crash site once they realized where this one went down.

According to someone who translated at LTV, when Mikhail tells Des that Naomi said "thank you for saving me", she apparently really said "there are others".

And someone else says they think they heard her say "they're coming" at one point.

Someone else says she was saying "I'm not alone".

So maybe there was someone else in the 'copter.

Naomi speaks many languages:
"Me estoy muriendo" is Spanish for "I am dying"
"Aiutame sto morendo" is Italian for "Help me I'm dying"
She mutters in Chinese

When Mikhail tells Desmond that Naomi said, "Thank you," (or something along those lines), it sounds like she's speaking Brazilian Portuguese and she's saying,"Eu não estou só," which translates to "I'm not the only one," or "I'm not alone." This is possibly in conjunction with the discovery of the backpack containing the book entitled "Ardil 22" the Portuguese-language version of "Catch 22."

wish we had a translation of all the languages she spoke. She started out speaking Spanish (which has been translated to I'm dying), then she spoke Chinese, followed by Italian.

Juliette's HATE line further solidifies her char. Her desire to leave overrides her hate of Ben. My hope, still, is that she'll reconsider at a pivotal time and screw Ben over.



Do we have a record of murders on the island? Seems like every murderer eventually dies too.

Eko - killed (two?) others.
Charlie - killed Ethan, now marked for death.
Goodwin - killed the whatshisface that took long dumps.
Ana L. - killed Goodwin.
Sun - killed the submarine chick, now marked for death.
Juliette - killed Pickett, was gonna die, then not... marked for death too?
Micheal - killed Ana and Libby, left island tho, was he gonna die too?
Mikhail - killed Ms. Klugh, then *seemed* to die, still marked?

Who am I missing?

I'm wondering if the mysterious island enforces an eye-for-an-eye approach to murder.

I don't recall that they actually felt for a pulse. I think all Kate did was roll him over. Mikhail looked dead, he had blood coming out of his ears, but perhaps he was just badly shocked and not completely dead. Then the island's healing powers allowed him to recover. That's what I'm sticking with until proven otherwise.

It does seem odd that Sun would go off alone with Juliet, but she wanted to know the truth about the baby and she saw it as an opportunity. I'd imagine the chance to find out when the child was conceived, and whether she would live or die was enough to overcome her fear of going with Juliet. Though I think I'd have said, "Fine we go. But Kate comes too."

Borky, but what about Libby and Shannon? I do think your thing fits though, but I don't see how they fit into it.
