My brief comments follow below...





















I didn't find there was anything as major as spoilers were leading us to believe. I guess to the viewer who avoids spoilers though, Naomi having the pic of Des and Pen and knowing his name is a big shock.

I did love seeing Penny and Des meeting... it was a sweet scene.

And did you all catch the woman from Flashes Before Your Eyes in the picture on the monk's (I think he's a monk?) desk when Des was returning his clothes?

I'm wondering if she had something to do with telling who I'll assume is her husband that Desmond had another purpose (the island?) and he needed to make him aware of it.

Oh, and Sawyer made me laugh with saying they had to play ping pong every 108 minutes.

And his total whoriness about not being used, that Kate just had to ask LOL.

Who was that chick that landed that Desmond thought was Penny? I didn't recognize her.

First time we've ever seen her on the show.

I know her from My Baby's Daddy and the Black Knight movies, lol. Was on Las Vegas too.

ILE, who is Naomi?  Is that the new character's name?

Yes, I saw the old lady in the pic.  But the Abbot can't be her hubby, he is a monk.

I knew the pilot wouldn't be Penny, and I am glad.  That would have been lame.  But I am kind of angry that we have yet another new character when there are still so many unresolved story threads.

So do you think if Des had sacrificed Charlie , it would have been Penny in the pilot's uniform?  I don't think so.

This episode was about sacrifice, was Des willing to sacrifice Charlie?  The thing is, Desmond's motives were selfish.  It was only when he pushed Charlie out of the way that he was thinking of the greater good, not just about himself.

Yup, Naomi is the parachutist. 'Tis what her name is in the press releases for the epi's she's in.

Yeah i am wondering if the outcome would have changed had Des let Charlie take the arrow in the neck.

I feel asleep at about 9:45 tonight and missed the first half hour, so annoying but the parts I saw( I think I woke up around 10:30)  I wasn't too impressed with.

It definitely wasn't as "momentous" as reported in spoilers. I don't think it'll be momentous 'til Naomi actually has something to say other than Des' name.

Yeah I was expecting a lot more I guess (damm spoilers!), lol

Enough with the new characters!  Can we resolve the existing characters first???   Or how about the MIA people like Rose and Bernard??? Hello????  SO frustrating...

The book with Des' picture in it was Catch-22 of course, in Portuguese.  So I'm guessing the spoilers are suggesting that Naomi is connected to the gentlemen in the listening station in the S2 finale, and therefore to Penny.  But I'm wondering if she is connected in any way to Paolo as well, which might give Paolo some purpose other than annoying us for half a season needlessly.

interesting epi, I agree that there was nothing really mind blowing about it. One thing did stand out for me, it is practically impossible to bail out of a helicopter if you are flying it alone. There are three basic controls on a helicopter:
1) the collective control, which is worked with your left hand,
  and controls the pitch of the main rotors, and throttle
2) the cyclic control which is worked with the right hand and
  controls the tip-path plane of the main rotors
3) the tail rotor controls, which are 2 pedals worked with the
  feet, and are used to counteract the torque of the main rotor

to fly, the pilot must be working all four points of control at the same time, it takes tremendous coordination. Imagine driving down the highway in a minivan and leting go of the steering wheel, climbing to the back, put on a parachute, and opening the side door, all while the van continues to travel down the road with out mishap.
   Sorry for the long explaination and I only bring this up because I think there was someone else on the helicopter, someone keeping it controled while Naomi jumped. Whether is means anything, I don't really know.

It was nice to see them laughing and having a good time.

I loved Sawyer's "play every 108 minutes" line.

Not a great episode for moving things forward, but I enjoyed it.

Yeah, I guess our big thing was supposed to be Naomi, but I wish they would have made it a little more than it was. Sets up well for the next episode though, so hopefully it'll be a good one.

Same cross in Eko's church as last night. Darn prop reusage, lol.
