Overall, not my favorite epi, but I liked some of the more subtle reveals.  For instance: Ben and Juliet were without shoes in the Pearl--I believe to show us there is only one other "group" on the island, albeit one that uses every means imaginable to manipulate.  It was strange seeing all the Pilot scenes with Nikki and Paolo inserted.  And Hurley CSI was pretty funny: LMAO @ evidence and crime scene.

LOL. Right before we see the spiders crawling on the ground, and before the one bites her, you can hear the wisps. It doesn't last long, but they're there.

Local lost blogger is on the news.  He pointed out that in the crash scene, Nikki is strangely clean and Paolo is filthy.  Yet they were supposedly sitting next to each other.  

He also thinks Howie was part of the Dharma Initiative.  If that's true we have a pattern of creepy unattractive men abducting hot women to the island.

who is Howie?

Howie is the old guy Nikki was sleeping with.

I just rewatched the spider attack and I don't hear smokey.  There is sort of a clicking sound, as though the sound of the spiders marching, and dramatic musical themes we have heard before.  But no smokey noise.

So how does he connect Howie with Dharma? And is it with Dharma or the hostiles?

It's the smokey wisp noise.  I know for a fact that's what I heard.  Eko heard it before the visions from his past showed up...

Can anyone hear what Ben says as he and Juliet come into the Pearl?  They talk about the doors being open, and it sounds like Ben says something like "we'll have them cover it up with the plane".  Anyone else hear better?

OK - 1st impression - that was the most retarded episode ever.

What an f'ing waste of money to bring Shannon & Boone & Arzt back to film those scenes that were so obviously lame attempts to show us that Dumb & Dumber were there all along. If it wasn't for Hurley and his "your superpower is kinda lame" comment, this entire episode was a waste of an hour. Next time - take all that money and make a decent episode with the real losties.

And what exactly was that all about anyway? Did TPTB realize they made a stupid mistake, listen to us and get rid of them????

I would have gone along with them just not being there anymore like they just appeared.

Come on guys - you were just starting to get back on track.....

Ahhhhh - that felt good!!!!!

It seems like the only reason to bring them on in the first place was to create a story arc to stretch out the season. The only scene that really revealed much was the B&J scene in the Pearl, and that looked to be an after thought. The only significant future plot point is now Sawyer has a walkie-talkie and can monitor the Hostiles.

Well hit me with a brick, but I really enjoyed seeing the different POVs of scenes that we have seen before through the eyes of different characters.
Loved that they were buried alive.  But you know sometime someone is going to dig up those diamonds and realize that they were not dead...
Shannon was such a bitch!!  Boone looked hawt and it was nostalgic for me to see all those guys.

All in all, not the best episode. I mean, yeah it was cool seeing Boone again, not too fond of Shannon, but I really couldn't see the point of the episode.

About the only thing that i thought was good is that Charlie brought out the truth about what happened to Sun. I thought that was decent on his part. The interaction between Sun and Sawyer was awesome! Can't believe she slapped the hell out of him!

He did looked good digging that grave though..... (drools)


I don't get way they had Sawyer say that Nikki and Paulo were working with the others. It just seemed kinda pointless. or at least I didn't notice.

Also, I never really liked Nikki. For some reason she just rubbed me the wrong way. Now I kinda know why. It's because of the way she acted. Helping Paulo kill that man, which made me dislike them both, and throwing that spider on Paulo.

After the episode, I kinda felt sorry for Paulo because I think he was in love with her and knew that those diamonds would tear them apart. But why wouldn't he just bury them somewhere instead of keeping them on him?

I know I'm ranting but I can't help it. Also, when Nikki came out of the jungle and spoke to Hurley and Sawyer, I too thought she said something like Paulo lies. But then after watching it again, I realized it was "paralyzed." She was trying to tell them but it didn't work.

Terrible way to die, but it was cool. How is everyone gonna feel if they learn the truth about it?
     

I only have watched once so far, but I think they had Sawyer say that because he found an Other's walkie-talkie in their stuff.

The episode was meh to me. Definitely slow after the last few weeks. But there were a few good lines. Nikki's comment about "the guest star always gets killed," had my son and I both laughing out loud. Sawyer and Hurley had a couple of good ones too.

Buried alive has to be a terrible way to die, so I think TPTB were trying to appease all the viewers who hated them. Make them die a horrible death.
