Whatever the quote was, Sawyer remembered it and it is why Jack realized that Sawyer had talked to his dad.

It was "That's why the Red Sox will never win the Series". I just found it odd that they would focus on that again, but I guess it is a good event to prove the timeline.

Did Jack ralize that they had spoken? It is a pretty generic comment for Sox fans at the time. |

Awesome episode! I'm loving season 3 so far! I can't remember, did Sawyer make the Red Sox comment at the same time as when he told Jack about meeting the guy in the bar, or was that an earlier episode? Regardless, I remember Jack reacting and asking Sawyer why he said that. After the descrïption he gave Jack about spending the time in the bar with the American doctor who wished he could call his son the doctor and wishing he could call his son and tell him he was proud of him, Jack definitely knew that Sawyer had met his dad. But I do remember his reaction to Sawyer and the Red Sox comment, though I'm not sure it was in the same scene. Some great Sayid lines last night. The whole "That would be one of the lies you mentioned" conversation had me cracking up! Sun definitely got some great scenes last night, and her character has moved to a very important place. While I was watching, I started thinking that one more thing many of the Losties have in common is that they either have killed someone in their past, or they have guilt believing that they have caused someone's death... Sawyer, of course, killed the man he thought was the real Sawyer. Kate killed her father/stepfather, and has guilt about Tom's death. Hurley is guilty about the people that died when he stepped on the balcony or whatever it was and it collapsed. Sun and Jin likely both have guilt over Jae's death. Jack killed Shannon's father (by choosing to treat Sarah,) couldn't save the girl his father had been operating on while he was drunk, couldn't save the old man (father of the girl he spent all the time with that ended up killing his marriage,) am I forgetting any other guilts he has? Sayid caused his friend to commit suicide by setting him up in the bombing plot. Eko has killed, and he has guilt about causing his brother's death. Ana Lucia killed the guy who shot her - not in self defense, but in cold-blooded anger. Desmond killed Kelvin. We haven't seen anything for Locke, Claire, Rose, Bernard, or Charlie that I can think of at this moment... but it is early so forgive me if I'm forgetting. I won't be surprised to see flashbacks that show it though. Maybe it means nothing, but it was just something that popped out at me last night when I saw Jae's body hit Jin's car. One more thing so many of these survivors have in common. Gotta run and get ready for work, I'll be back later! |

We saw Jae land on Jin's car, but do we know he wasn't pushed? (sorry, it's the CSI in me being sceptical) I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that Mr. Paik had sent someone to finish off the job, suspecting that Jin wouldn't. Now I'm really curious to see the recipient of the message Jin was deliviering to LA. Man, Jin and Sun's relationship is complicated. |

it's seems to be shaping up to be a pretty good season so far, one thing that crossed my margarita infused brain last night is that the losties can't seem to catch a break, everytime it looks like they will have some small victory, the others are one step ahead of them. Maybe it is just me, but it's starting to get a little frustrating, come on TPTB throw us a bone, just some little ray of hope. I guess it is a way of showing us that Benrys' group is playing for keeps and is serious about their agenda. Also, there were 2 pieces of dialog last night that I find important 1) the girl on the boat "We are not your enemy, but if you shoot me that is what we will become" WTF? and 2) when Benry says to Jack "I was born on this island", shows that there was something going on there for quite awhile, maybe even before the DI, I guess depending on Benrys age. --Last edited by gardenboy on 2006-10-12 08:21:51 --

I wondered about that myself, WOC. (But then the CSI is in me as well - LOL.) I could see Mr. Paik not trusting Jin enough and having a back-up plan. And that relationship is so complicated, it isn't funny. GB, I was confused by that dialog as well. But I think what he said was, "I've lived on this island my whole life." Does that mean he has never left it? Or has he "vacationed" outside of the island. He apparently knows how to get out. Interesting that while Benry wants the boat, the comment was made that all they could do was sail in circles. Just like what happened to Desmond. So there must be just one particular course to follow that will allow you to escape. And yes, with Benry's age, he has to pre-date the DI. Wonder if there are any DI people left on the island, and if they have been assimilated into Benry's group or if there are indeed two factions of "others" as some of us have speculated in the past. Benry and Juliet's relationship is complicated as well. The "you never made me soup" comment - just more fodder for my brain for the "they may have been lovers in the past" idea. There is real tension there. And I must throw in my obligatory "I love Sawyer" comment here! Did anyone catch what was on the video screens Benry was watching besides Sawyer in the cage? |

Jeannie, I think the room where Benry was watching Sawyer is a monitoring room for the whole Hydra/Polar Bear complex. When Juliette knocked on the door after taking Jack soup, he was watching Jack.

Jeannie, I had said the same thing to my other half about 2 weeks before epi 1. Outta nowhere it occured to me that many of our Losties have killed. And wasn't Boone responsible for his nanny falling down the stairs? Another good epi last night. Although I'm not too fond of Jin and Sun episodes. As soon as Jae landed on Jin's car my other half said, "he was pushed." And the first person I thought of was SUN. Was she maybe in the room when Jin beat the crap outta Jae? Maybe the bathroom? That was priceless when Benry told Jack the Sox won the series and then showed him. And how bout Sawyer? I was cracking up every scene he was in. Sawyer (to Kate): "You taste like strawberries." (and then afterwards he calls her shortcake.) LOL Can't wait for next week.

Ooh, Sun pushing Jae out the window? That puts a really nasty spin on things, Agrillo! Actually, here's a question. When we see a character's flashbacks are they remembering them at the time? Because unless she was there, how could Sun remember Jin beating up Jae? Or is it just a case where we are seeing a character's past to tie it in with what is occuring on the island, in which case Jin's actions would tie to Sun. I forgot about Boone and the nanny, but you are right, he felt guilt for that. It may be nothing but coincidence, but the more flashbacks we see, the more they seem to have that in common. |

Good Morning ! Great EP!! Actually , the Red Sox comment, Jack said to Sawyer "That is why the Red Sox will never win the Series" (This was the episode when Sawyer was about to leave with Michael) . Sawyer , having heard Christian say the same thing in Australia, asked Jack what he said and Jack said that it was something his father used to say |

To answer your question... I think Jin and Sun FBs are a little different. They jump between Jin and Sun's perspectives. We get two FBs for the price of one. As with other Losties it's just one character's FB.

It was a great episode. Like some of you, the first thing I thought when Jae fell on the car was that he was pushed. Paik would never trust Jin to do the job without checking so I figured he (or one of his other goons) finished the job. Other interesting things (some of you already commented on some): Benry saying he had always lived on the island. Did not say born - so could be a different kind of timeline. Is he a traditional human - born grew up, ages at normal rate, or... Also when Jack says why wouldn't you leave - Benry says "Yes - Why wouldn't we?" VERY important question with an answer that will tell us a LOT about Benry and his others. They are either in a position of not WANTING to leave or not ABLE to leave. I say the latter. Why are they not ABLE to leave? There is something about being "born" or "created" on the island that means they cannot just leave. This may be why the need the "regular world" people like Jack. They WANT to leave, but need to do something before they are able. Some kind of genetic modification perhaps? Sayid was awesome. He is great. A little weak that they would not have kept a real close eye on the boat though. And now a real possibility that Sun's baby is Jae's I think. I think Connie (Colleen?) is dead. She seemed like a redshirt to me. Good for Sun. I'm tired of people not following through ![]() The other reason I wonder about the others "humanness" is the comment Sawyer made to Kate about Juliet - She would have shot you in an instant. They have no problem doing what needs to be done.

one could argue the fact of Sun pushing him out the window for 2 reasons 1) when Jin is parked in front of the hotel and he is looking in the mirror watching for Jae, there are 2 women walking into the hotel at different times (will need to view screencap) and 2) the ease in Sun shot the women on the boat. If you kill once, it is easier to kill again.
