Because it is a great TV show and there should be a thread for it.

I'm not sure if it is still showing on SPACE in the U.S., but we get it on CBC in Canada - even if we are behind the U.K.

Getting even for us getting LOST first I guess.

Anyway - any UK folks or anyone else who loves the show - this is the place to discuss.

BTW - I am building a TARDIS

Come on guys - no other Dr Who fans out there???

This season is shaping up to be the best so far by a long shot. The new Doctor - David Tennant (Barty Crouch for you Potter fans) is awesome. In the past the show was sometimes criticized for not being realistic (hence the fiction part in science fiction )

David Tennant has this blend of energy, charm and humor that makes the show a cross between comedy & drama.

It's a fine line, but somehow it works.

This weeks episode was one of the best.

If you have not seen this show - you should if it airs in your area.

Fantastic!

VM - I don't get this show. Otherwise, I'd happily chitter about it!
It does sound good though, and if you like it, I'm sure I would

Vincent, I just found out I missed this last night, but it does air on the Sci-Fi channel here. I'm going to try and catch it next week.

Is this something I'll be lost (pun intended) trying to watch or can I catch on quickly?

Hey VM, my brother works on the dvd's of old episodes. He just did a good commentary with Tom Baker about when he was finishing his stint on the series - the episode was Logopolis but it's only out over here in Jan. He did another Tom Baker commentary called the Ark in Space.

I must confess, I love that show "Dirtiest Jobs" and I think that Mike is both funny and hawt! I don't care how dirty he gets!  images/icones/icon15.gif

Each episode is usually its own story - so it is easy to watch. There are often shout-outs to old things but if you don't get them the show is still great.

I absolutely love Dr Who

Ha Ha VM - Its nice for the UK to see some-thing good first  http://www.oceanicworldairlines.com/forum/nfphpbb/images/smiles/icon_nana2.gif
I was hyper when they brought it back after such a long absence
I remember being scared as a small child watching the show

I preferred Christopher as the Doctor but I have grown fond of David

Not too sure about Bilies replacement - She will be a hard act to follow dont you think??

Very cool Ralf!

VF - Yes - I like Billie. I have not seen any episodes with her replacement - so can't say.....

No new episodes here for quite a few weeks and they left us with the first half of the epi where they were on that planet under the Black Hole. As Borat would say - Nice!

No VF - I'm not sure we get it here. Sounds good though. I didn't realize Torchwood anagramed to Doctor Who - cool.

They finally showed part 2 of the Satan episode. Fantastic!

This weeks Dr.Who epi reminded me of those really nutty X-Files episodes. It was the one with the dude who loves E.L.O. and formed the group L.I.N.D.A.

Bizarre but fantastic!

Great news - new Dr.Who season began Monday in Canada. I loved the new partner - she is great!

Greater news - Torchwood is coming to CBC in Canada this year.

Oh - and I came up with the perfect ending for LOST. We find out as the last season winds up that the Losties Island really is LOST in time. As all hope is lost when Smoky goes nuts and is about to kill all the losties, we hear the familiar whoosh whoosh and suddenly the T.A.R.D.I.S appears. Out hops David Tennant to the astonishment of all. Who are you dude? asks Hurley. "I'm the Doctor" he says "and I'm here to save you all. Get in." "Dude, there's now way we can all fit in there!" says Hurley. "Not if you come Staypuff" says Sawyer. "Don't worry" says the Doctor - "It's bigger on the inside than the outside", and with that they all hop in and as the TARDIS dematerializes, and takes off, we see a Dharma Logo on the bottom.

The new girl gets better and so do the episodes
Only a couple of 'off' ones
Finale for me on the 30th

And Torchwood also rocks - You will enjoy!!
Especially the final scene of the season finale  images/icones/icon18.gif images/icones/icon18.gif
