Wow, in these early episodes Claire is far less annoyingg.  But soon Aaron will be born and we'll hear her shouting "my baaaaybeeee!  my maaaaybeee!"

This episode provides our first strong evidence that the Losties have been brought to the island for a reason.  THey psychic totally tricked Claire into getting on the plane.  Of course, she'd have to be an idiot to follow his advice.  He's all "no, you have to take this plane, Flight 815, the couple will be waiting."  Um, couldn't he call them on the phone and say sorry, she's coming a day later?  It was all so sketchy, I can't believe she went for it.

And I had forgotten how strident the guy was about Claire raising the kid.  He made a remark about how Claire's inherent goodness had to influence the child.  I am wondering if the kid is Damien or one of the Boys from Brazil or something.  Maybe he's eeeeeevil.

The whole thing begs the question: how much did the psychic see?  Did he do a Dead Zone and see the kid blowing up the polanet?  He knew Flight 815 would crash and she would be stranded.  But did he know how long they would be there?  Maybe he knew she'd crash, be stranded and give birth.  THey wouldn't have to be there too long for Claire to bond with the baby and change her mind about giving him up.

Or...did he see Claire stranded on Craphole Island for ever, raising the child to maturity?

AND, did he see Henry and the Others?  Is the island not equally as risky as adoptionletting someone else raise him?  Because for all of S1 and S2 we are made to believe that The Others pose a danger to children in particular.  We know that Henry has a history of stealing children and raising them as his own.  Is this really going to be better for the baby.

What do you think it was supposed to mean when Locke (in Claire's dream) said "Everyone pays the price now"... ??

I find it hard to believe that Claire was A) on the pill and B) SIX WEEKS LATE before taking a test.  Never realized that when I saw this episode the first time but as a woman who was once on the pill that just didn't make sense.  (Episode must have been written by a man, LOL!)

When Kate told Jack she and her mom used to "sink into the sand" I tried to picture that relationship and had a hard time doing so.  I wish we could see Kate when she was little although I don't know if it would contribute to her story at this point.

If I recall correctly, there was some debate around the forums after Eko's episode visiting Malkin, saying "he was really a fraud until the incident with his daughter" -- but proof that he wasn't comes from two things: knowing Claire was pregnant after she'd only known herself two days earlier, and knowing that Thomas left her.

I'm trying to figure out why Ethan would have been injecting Claire in the caves.  Was the plan all along not to kidnap her and he only did so after Hurley questions him about his name?  I hope TPTB address the Claire kidnapping in the future as there still seems to be so much we don't know.  Kinda hard though with everyone involved but Claire (Ethan and Charlie) dead now - and implausible that they'd do it since she already had a flashback about it.

Claire remembering that her dad used to sing "Catch a Falling Star" to her - wonder if that was a real memory of Christian?

Side note: Ethan still creeps me out at the end of this one EVERY TIME.

Super, I wonder too about what the psychic saw about Aaron.  He even said "danger surrounds this baby" and we saw that play out more in S1 than we have the whole rest of the show.
