This is the Charlie/cave-in episode, IMO most notable for the appearance of Scott and Steve! Wheeee! Locke's moth speech initially plays as a little sappy and heavy handed, but later the moth actually leads Charlie to safety. Is it really the moth? Is it smokey? Is it Charlie's detox hallucinations? I was hoping at the end the moth would fly into the fire and get all burned up, as moths always do. Speaking of detox, I can't believe how easy it looks. Get me some heroin, stat! This whole ep, I just kept thinking how disgusting Charlie's hoodie was, he must be so hot and sweaty and it is all filthy and stinky. Ugh. The ep is pretty much the beginning of the relentless Catholic imagery we'll see throughout the serious. All through this ep and the previous one, my friend Liz kept shouting "where is the pregnant chick?" Last we saw Claire she was passed out and dehydrated and she has been missing for two epis. Liz was going nuts wondering why everyone jsut left her on the beach with a bunch of redshirts. And in the ridiculous coincidence department, who smuggles fireworks from Sydney to LA? Are they even illegal in California? In these parts all you have to do is drive to the state line. ETA: apparently some novelty fireworks are legal in CA. Those were some pretty big bottle rockets so they could be illegal for personal use. So this storyline is possible, but pretty far-fetched. It would much easier to just drive to Nevada, where all fireworks are legal, than to fly them in from Sydney. http://www.usfireworks.biz/legal/ca.htm --Last edited by supermodel on 2007-06-20 16:31:05 -- |

Lisa, maybe they decided not to exert themselves kiling boar when they found all those yummy Dharma foods. Kate's a bitch. When she said she pitied Sawyer she was being cruel on purpose, to make him feel bad and do what she wanted. Didn't work. At this point in the series, at least, Sawyer knows who he is, where he came from and what he has become. He may be filled with self-loathing but he knows it. (Let's forget about the part where, later, he ultimately embraces who he is and goes ahead and kills Cooper, then immediately shows remorse.) Kate, on the other hand, is in denial. She too is full of self-loathing but she is self-righteous, still maintaining that she did the right thing kiling her stepdad, incredulous at her mom's reaction, can't stay in one place for fear of her memories catching up with her, etc. Who, at this point, deserves pity? --Last edited by supermodel on 2007-06-21 13:33:33 -- |
