What was the best season so far, and why?

That's a hard one for me to answer Rain.  I've liked them all truthfully.  Now it could be because I was deeply involved in the website stuff before ever seeing all of Season 1 (well maybe not deeply, but *hooked*) and so I really dug the mythology stuff we got in Season 2 for that reason.  And this season has just taken the whole show to a new plane, IMHO, which I really also like (I'm a fan of any of the time/space theories even though I know a lot aren't).

So... I suppose I can't vote at this time.  But there's why.  LOL.

I wonder why?

I haven't voted yet either. I actually like each season for it's own reasons. Maybe after the rewatch is complete I'll have more of an opinion.

I agree, it`s a difficult one. I`ve liked each season for it`s own reasons. I voted S1 though, because I liked the balance between mystery and character development. Not that I didn`t like the next two seasons, but in S1 everything was still new and mysterious

I didn't say S2 just cuz of Eko though, lol. It really has been my fave season.

I went with S3, more mystery and more answers.

I went with Season 3. S2 is the least favorite of the three. I would then say S1 is a VERY close, almost a tie to S3. The reason S3 stands out for me is that I felt we were able to see the characters doing logical things on the island -- like talking to each other, and trying to figure out what to do.

So many silly choices in S1 -- like the whole raft storyline. And Charlie's heroin addiction really was not pleasant TV.

I voted for Season 1 because of the newness and the possibility that the show could take virtually any direction.  S3 was a really close second, but the flashbacks in S1 were just stronger overall, IMO

S1.

the flashbacks were stupendously done and i couldn't wait to see which person's past would be showcased from week to week.

now it's just, "wow, sun and jin flashback for the 8th time. think i'll go outside and deflate all my neighbors tires again."

S2 for me, the hatch, the tailies, glimpsing further into the mysteries of the island

I went with Season 3. So much happened this last season!  New people, seeing some old characters, Dharma stations, death, and a rescue?!?! Come on, that's all good stuff right there!
