Which character had the most surprising death in S3?

Naomi knifed by Locke -- because that was just cold blooded murder. I discussed this in other threads that Sawyer shooting Tom was an act of war. That much of the finale deaths were based on the "war" of the battle between different groups of the island.

here we have Locke just waltz up and knife this girl - without making an attempt to stop her from calling out.

I voted Eko, cuz I'm still slightly bitter about his death.

He was a strong character.. I just felt having Smokey throw him around was a shitty way to get rid of him.

I voted Tom, who edged out Naomi.

Eko's death was shocking. I think it was not so much shocking for me since I knew some of the behind the scenes murmurings. I wish they had tried to make that work. I do not feel his character was used enough on this island. He clealry had a connection and I'm not sure why Jacob would want him dead, now that we know about jacob.

I voted for Hurley's dusting off the guy with the punch buggy. Don't know why, just was the most unexpected for me.

Hurley killing someone is definitely a twist to his character.

Since I had read the spoilers, it was hard for me to be shocked. I'm going to ask my non-spoiled son for his opinion, and will use my vote for that.

I loved seeing Hurley drive the guy down though, so if I was voting for myself that would probably be it.

I voted Locke killing Naomi too, for the same reasons Pen gave. But Hurley running over that guy is a very close second.

I voted Eko.  That one was hard to take.  Really liked the character and how he played off Locke
