Well the Sawyer love in me voted for Ben.
I am  presuming Kate is with a "him" we know and that him, if not Jack, has to be Sawyer (unless Season 4 is the Hurley hookup or she really is preggers with Bernard's child).

And I can't help but think if Sawyer was dead, Hurley would come, at the very least. He developed some respect this season with Hurley & Jin. Even Claire. And I'd expect even if she hated him, Kate would go to that funeral.

Ben -- why would anyone, even Juliet, go?

Well, we also don't know which of the Losties are still alive in flash-forward time.

I voted for Locke. He has no family left - ok, his mother but who knows if she even reads the paper... she's not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree. Who else would come to his funeral?

And his actions have not won him a lot of friends among the Losties, so I could see those that survived/made it off the island not caring enough to attend his funeral.

I voted Sawyer. No family/friends.

He said to Kate, "there's always someone to go back for". I think this is foreshadowing an incident where some are left behind.

I picture an event where a small window of escape is revealed to where only a few can leave and that window closes if they wait for the entire group.

Sawyer makes the decision to escape w/ the promise of coming back for the rest which is just enough reason for Jack to agree. Of course they can't get back, and are haunted by their decision.

Sawyer kills himself, noone to go to funeral. Kate got a light sentence in lieu of her heroics and is at a halfway house or has a minder or some sort that keeps her on a short leash. Jack loses it w/ guilt.

I voted other. I think it might be Ben or Michael. It had to be someone most of them hated (as Kate said "why would I go to his funeral?"). I don't think Ben left the island, at least not voluntarily. How they would of known Michaels assumed name I don't know, unless he was pivotal in the final rescue. I thnk they are setting up for a future episode with this.

Juliet What is that?
Richard Alpert That is orange juice...with a considerable amount of Dharma Calms Forte mixed in.
Juliet You want me to drink it?

I like the Michael idea now that you guys have brought him up. I didn't even think about Michael. And yeah, knowing Lost -- that name is probably significant for next season or something. We'll hear it and go: "OMG! Coffin Man!"

I am voting for Locke as they are really pissed at them for keeping them on the island (or trying to)

I cannot see it being anyone BUT John Locke.

Michael is a good possibility. I hadn't thought about it being him until I read some of the discussion here.

I think it's Michael also, he is the one when you think about it , besides Ben and why would Jack care about Ben dying , that no one would prob. attend his funeral.

It's funny, I have this recollection of replying to this thread, even discussing why Kate would be so against going to Michael's funeral.  And yet it was all in my head.
