How the hell did that happen?! I mean isn't a fugitive pre-island? So why does she have custody of Aaron?

I'm baffled. Like really baffled.

A) Something may have happened to Claire, and they decided the best thing for Kate would be to take Aaron with her

B) She took him, knowing she may have an easier out having a child

C) Who the hell knows LOL

LOL! Maybe you're right. But I just can't see how it works.

I'm heavily favoring A and didn't even really bat an eye at this. It would make sense for whatever is coming down the line that Claire is not going to make it off the island and is not one of the Oceanic 6. Kate is and took Aaron to safety with her, simple enough, she survived, possibly the boat people or whatever is ultimately going to become of the Losties. I also thought in the episode the fact they said that there were 8 who survived the crash and that 2 died after was important, especially to the story they collectively seemed to fabricate.
