I was thinking the other day about small questions that might not be answered on the show.

First,in season 2 of two for the road, Hurley, Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Michael were trekking into the jungle. A bird flew downward and screeched what sounded like Hurley's name. What was the purpose of this scene? Was it Libby trying to get his attention?

Second, in season one when we see Ethan after having attacked Charlie and Claire he has three nail scratches on his face. But when we see him in Claire's memory of what happened in season 2, they're not there. Did they happen when Ethan kidnapped Claire and Charlie or when he told Charlie he wanted Claire back? I really wanna see what happened in this moment. God I hope they revisit it in season 4.

And third, Locke said in season 3 of Further Instructions that he was going to save Mr. Eko. But he never did. So why was it important for him to have the vision in the first place?

Just small questions that I wonder will ever get answered on Lost.

DS - those Mobisodes may answer some stuff like this if they actually do them this fall.

But those are good points. I think that bird was an easter egg that was a nod to the Lost Books that never really took off.

But good point about Locke with the Eko comment, I had forgotten that.

I think the Eko storyline as well as the building of the church went by the wayside when the Big A decided he wanted out of the series.

You know what Ralf, that is probably correct. It would account for the inconsistency there. It is a shame when people act like asshats and ruin the fun for the rest.

Just like there was to be a story about Libby being related to Penny and a Widmore, and well that sure went by the wayside too.

Huh?! When was this in progress? I've only read one of the Lost books. It's called Secret Identity. Get this, I didn't like it. It's a part of Lost and I didn't like it.

That's a good point ralf. Maybe it was because Big A decided he wanted out. I'm still curious about the scratch. God I hope they show how Ethan took Claire and Charlie in season 4!! And the whole bird thing too.

I didn't know about the Penny/Libby thing aside from speculation. Though it's still possible to do through Penny (or someone else in her life) flashbacks.

DS - there were rumors going around she was a Widmore last year. That she would be in Desmond's flashbacks throughout S3. But they fired the actress so I think this was switched up.

I wonder if Nikki and Paolo's diamonds will turn up.  Who was it who said "things buried on this island don't stay buried for long?"  Actually, as far as I can tell, most things do stay buried.  The only thing that didn't stay buried was Marshall Mars.

Man that would be wicked. The only thing I don't get about the island healing properties is that it only seems to cure the sick(Rose) and the paralyzed(Locke). What about the gun shot wounds? Crushed lungs? Fevers?

Can you imagine Paulo and Nikki crawling out of their graves. Ohhhh wee are they gonna stink!!!!

I wonder if they'll ever tell us why Smokey felt the need to throw Eko around the jungle like he was a freakin' rag doll. I understand that AAA wanted off the show and so they killed him off. But what's the motivation behind th4e monster. What complelled it to think, Eko must die now!

This is the second time we've seen the smoke monster kill. In the first episode, it killed the pilot, even though we didn't see it.

I hope they tell us. I don't think that smokey would attack just for the hell of it.

Another small question. After Claire was taken, Charlie was reading her diary. Why was Claire dreaming about the black rock?

she was?  I just rewatched that epi, but I don't remember that.

Maybe SMokey was giving her visions?

Possibly. If that is the case then I wonder what the purpose would be. In Claire's diary she said that even in a place as scary as this island, Charlie made her feel safe. It was then that he saw it, rushed to Sayid and told him.
