Many many threads popping up at the Fuselage saying that delusional Jack hallucinated a conversation with Kate.

Supporting evidence so far:

1. She should be on the run from cops or in jail in real world;
2. She looked quite different from "island Kate" with straight hair, shiny face, someone even said her eyes were the wrong color.

I'm not sure what to make of it.

I am not buying into this right now because it seems too complicated, and so far on Lost, nothing revealed has ever been very complicated. However, the fact she is not running from the cops clearly is problematic with what we know of her story. It could have been resolved by a corporate coverup as part of their pact to "lie" post-rescue. That would be a more simpler explanation than Kate being a hallucination ala Dave.

However -- I did notice that when Jack calls "Kate" to meet him -- the person who answers does not sound like her. Also - he clearly, from what we know NOW, was having some delusions about the state of his Dad. Why not imagine Kate?

I read the link to the post at the lage, and I agree, it seemed overly complicated.

But the idea that Kate was just an illusion doesn`t have to be complicated IMHO.

I`m not sure I buy into it or not yet, but it could be a good explanation.

We have already seen illusions and manifestations, and they have managed to keep it more simpe than the fuselage poster described LOL.

Interesting. It does seem very complicated though, but as Rain says an illusion doesn't have to be as complicated as the poster made it in that theory.

My personal take on Kate's appearance though was that she was made up to look a bit older - to account for the 3 year time difference.

And oxycodone is known for the side-effect after chronic use -- hallucinations.

The voice on the phone does NOT sound like Kate. If he was hallucinating her, it would make more sense why she wasn't on the run LOL and also why Jack seems such a wreck. If only himself got off of the island, I can imagine the toll that has taken on his life.

That would be a horrible burden. I can't imagine it myself.

I would find it the lamest explanation ever .. talk about a gamechanger !! .. and if THAT is not complicated , what is ?!! I mean for god sake it's a lot more complicated than accepting he's in the present time !

And why does anyone assume Kate has been cleared on murder charges ?! Is it that difficult to assume she just changed identity ? .. we still don't know the whole story .. who is with her or what was the deal to get out of the island

As for the makeup and eye color change (if there is any !) I'm just not going to comment , this guy must live in lalaland if he doesn't know about contact lens and damit just look at claudia schiffer when she has no make up on !!

I agree, his theory makes it too much of a mess to sort out. But the simple fact of a manifestation/hallucination could be real.

Also, as I just posted in another thread -- most manifestations of deceased people occur to someone who played a hand in their death. Maybe Jack is so guilty because he feels responsible for her death -- perhaps because he left the island with out her. He made her a promise earlier in the season "I will come back for you" when he was to leave with Juliet. He feels a powerful urge to fulfill that -- but right now is so messed on the pills he cannot separate reality from imagination/hallucination.

Sometimes the only way to support your ideas is to make a theory so uber complicated peopels heads explode trying to figure out what you are saying.
  Why would Kate look different? Let's see...she now has access to make up, eye liner, mascara, a hairstylist, regular showers, clothing boutiques, etc.
The voice on the phone probably sounded different to build the suspense for the show when we saw who it really was. It should also be noted that they had met there before, if I tell someone to meet me at the airport I wouldn't expect them to know I meant at the end of a runway.

Another problem with her being a hallucination is don't you think he would envision her as "island Kate" -- curlier hair, no makeup, freckles, etc.?

Nothing on LOST has ever been revealed so complicated. I want Jack to be crazy, but not hallucinating.

I thought every reveal is complicated?
