The old www.oceanic-air.com site said it went bankrupt after 815 crashed.

Yet, in the finale, we learn that Oceanic gave "golden passes" to at least Jack and Kate. He's using it seemingly to fly back and forth from Sydney to LA (that's my guess on where he'd be going to try and find the island again).

Are we to ignore this previous "cannon" fact from Season 1 online exploration?

Pen - I am not sure of your question. Northwest Airlines is currently in bankruptcy and should be coming out of it in a few weeks. A number of the US airlines went into bankruptcy after 9/11 and came out of it as well. All still maintained flights and service during the bankruptcy. Why wouldn't Oceanic Air be able to do the same thing?

I guess that website made it seem as if they were DONE -- "all flights cancelled" as it said.

I know that other airlines come out of bankruptcy so that, much simpler answer, may be just what is going on here.

or could it be another hint, like jack`s "get my father down here" or Kate not running from the law, that this was not the future as it would be, but more a hint at what would happen to Jack if he did indeed leave?

I remember TPTB comming out against that website because while it is/was offcial , being owned by ABC , producers were not involved in its creation , it actually was bashed a lot when it appeared the seats as they appear there had nothing to do with what the show aired ... also the website has not updated in like 2 years , and wasn't part of the TLE , so I'm just not counting it in anymore .

kinda like the diarty, which couold have been considered canon because it was on the ABC website, expcet all the info was screwy and finally TPTB disavowed it and said it was created by interns.

Was that site Cannon?
Like said before, Airlines go in and out of bankruptcy all the time. I have several friends that worked for Delta and to hear them talk it isnt all that uncommon.
