was it a map or a blueprint? I tend to lean towards that it was plans or a blueprint. Can anyone screencap it?

ok, I am confused of how we are posting shit, when almost everything we discuss about the show is a mystery of the island or a mystery on the island. If we want to discuss one facet of that do just keep stringing along and look for related posts in that thread or are we threading individual mystery's and subjects here in GD? end rant and t/j

Sorry guys, didn't mean to suggest you posted in the wrong place and the only reason I didn't post the link is that I needed to get offline for a minute.  As usual, just ignore me.

I hope they will actually take the map/blueprint with them and explore where the dirt road was going LOL.

It is a blue print that has a map of the road...plus a facility at the top of a hill/mountain.  Unfortunately the two "key" boxes are too small to read, they would have lots of good info in them as far as the construction of the buildings.  You see that the top of the hill has a "c" in a circle, you'd go to the key chart labeled "c" to see what it would say about taht particular site.
It is also possible this is what the group, including Kate and Sawyer were building and breaking up rocks for, the construction of this road or one like it.

given the scale, I would have to say it wasnt being built on Craphole Jr (the zoo island), but on the main island where our losties are.  So, I would have to say they werent breaking rocks for this road, I still think its more of an airstrip

Borky, Penelope and I created the "unsolved mysteries" thread as a place to vent our frustration over mysteries that popped up as early as S1 and then just go away and are never addressed.  Such as Smokey, Where's Walt-o, etc.

They may be breaking up rocks that they are going to transport to the big island for the road - but I doubt it.

The map was probably just to get us all excited and keep us busy trying to read the Arial Unreadable. We will never hear about the road again.

ow we need someone who is a cartographer to explain those numbers on the map. The 45-290W and the 209.3480 & 3458.

When this map/plans are first viewed, it appears to be a topographic map because of the contour lines, but it lacks a number of standard symbols that are found on these maps. The numbers might represent elevation but the dashes, decimal point and "W" or "VV" are inconsistant with topo maps. There seems to be data boxes on this document as well, which makes me think of blueprints or plans of some sort.
So what we have here is a document that has elements of a map and elements of blueprints/plans, another words we don't know WTF we have.

If I got a site plan from a civil engineer that looked like that, I'd call Pen and have her fire him in a heartbeat.  To me it looks like a site plan that wasn't meant for construction, but more of a site-orientation sheet, and probably one of a set of drawings.  I doubt we'll learn any more about it.

TO ADDRESS THIS CONCERN: The beauty (I thought) of this forum was there are rules, but loosely followed. VM's post was correct, and so is yours dear GB  No awooriess!!

Second - While I agree we are not rule heavy, but to save from confusion, sepereate threads help, imo.

After thinking about the map/plans some more, I am beginning to think that it really isn't that important and by that I mean it is maybe nothing more than explanation as to why a van is in the middle of the jungle. I think we were shown it just to show that there was or is a road infrastucture of some kind.
