Yeah, I'm not convinced either. Obviously, cuz I said I'm sticking by Dani's side... but she caught Ben, I'm sure she knows about him from Jack now... you think she'd know and would have some sort of compassion towards him still. Yes, I know we don't know what happened in that time gap, but still.

I'm not sold on the Annie=Danielle thing yet either. I won't completely discount it, but I'm leaning towards it being no, based on the accent, her catching of Ben, etc.

Of course, I don't think Alex is really Ben's daughter either. And I think Alex is beginning to figure that out, if she hasn't already.

But what if Ben told her to catch him, because he wanted to meet Locke?

Maybe she is pissed at Ben & co, because they wouldn`t let her see her daughter. He could have promised her something like that if she pretended to catch him?

So Ben knew her mom was Danielle -- and I presume was not the least bit surprised to know she was on the island still. Why did he decide to tell Alex at this particular moment? It was almost comical this scene, great acting by all three.

I think Ben did it so he could try to maintain some sort of respect (for lack of a better word) with Alex. He knew if he didn't say it, someone else would have.

Well here is what we do know about Alex:

1. She is 16 so born around 1988 or 1989 compared to 2004/2005 present on island.

2. The purge took place between the mid 1980's to early 1990's

3. Alex was kidnapped when she was a week old according to Danielle.

It would make more sense I think that Alex was kidnapped by the Hostiles AFTER the purge, meaning the purge had to be in 1988 or 1989. That could work. It could also mean that the sickness Danielle talks about was related to the purge or another incident (THE Incident?)

If Ben lost a child with Annie (conjecture) then I can see why he might take Alex for himself.

I lean towards believing Danielle's story.

Time for a Danielle flashback next season.

My opinion:
Danielle stayed mostly in the Dark Territory. Alex was snatched up by the Others "Hostiles" as they have a habit of snatching children.
Alex stayed with Others and was under supervision of some sort. Danielle did not penetrate the Sonic fence and neither did Alex.
In my strange way of looking at things, it is plausible, And who knows what Ben told her about her Mother (we all know he is so truthful)
