OK, After S3 E1, where Juliet clocks Jack cold with one punch underwater, I am really thinking that Benry's "Others" are super-human (genetically modified or engineered) by the Dharma Initiative and now like the Super-Computer HAL from 2001, have rebelled against Dharma when they realized their power. Remember Ethan fighting like a superman, and even Goodwin was killed by a fluke when he fell on the spear that Ana had. Remember what Juliet told Jack about it not mattering what they were or who they were, but what they are or who they are now.

I understand your theory VM, but Ana and Eko killed easily when the others attacked their camp, Benry fell and busted his butt when he was try to get to the button, when Locke was pinned under the door. Not exacty feats of Super-human strength. I'm not sure if I buy into your theory yet, but I will keep an open mind to it.

GB - I don't agree that Eko killing the others was easy. He is a really big strong guy, and he looked absolutely exhausted. Ana fluked out - Goodwin fell on the spear. Benry I believe was faking a lot of what he did and said in the Hatch.

I aqree with you VM, about Benry faking them out in the hatch with what he said,(he would have been treated different if the knew he was the leader) but when he was climbing up and over to push the button, no one could see him. I think the camera showed him struggling and busting his butt because he is normal (physically)
Your theory does however have some points worth watching.

VM - this certainly could be true. Maybe Benry is not actually one of the superhumans though, which could explain away GB's concerns. Maybe not all of them are. And this would explain the "why those four"  query from the finale - - maybe Jack, Sawyer, Kate, and Hurley were chosen so be genetically altered because they are good 'fits' to be given these additional genetic modifications.

Good point GB. Right now we have really only seen some possible super human strength from Ethan, maybe Juliet and the Others that attacked the Tailies (maybe)

I was thinking about this theory a little bit, and I don't think it is possible. When the others came that first night, weren't they fended off with rocks. Sure, some of them may be in physical strength, but I don't think they are superhuman. As for the punch, I would say that likely has a tie in to Juliet's b.g. somehow. But I would ener dicount the idea altogether.

This goes back to MY theory of OTHER OTHERS - In Other words, there is more than ONE group of others... the dirty footed small, silent dirty ones are SLAVES and possibly dwarfed, possibly muted in some way. Possibly Zombie like, but mostly in their silent ways & their muteness.

The OTHER dirty feeted ones would be the escapees of the group of slaves above and would include SOME of the kids like Alex & Emma possibly & her brother...

I can see two sets of Others, but slaves? dwarves?  I just don't think that's the case. If The Others had slaves, why aren't they using them? What would be the point of dwarfing people you want as slaves? Wouldn't you wanna make them bigger so they could do more?
